About Us

In the 10 years of its existence, the Greene County Museum has sponsored 62 exhibits and programs that maintain a balance between art and history. Our guest artists and crafters include:

  • painters Dinah Sharpe Sylivant, Chick Wooten, Bob & Pat Jones
  • woodcarver Tommy Rogers
  • basket weaver Susan Moye and
  • potters Melanie Waters and Mary Jones Dementev
  • Nooherooka Quilters Guild.

    • We also host the annual student art show featuring artwork from students in the four Greene County public schools. An opening reception is held at the beginning of each new exhibit in order to introduce the artist or exhibitor.

We serve Greene County, N.C. and surrounding communities as a center of cultural activities. Partnerships with the North Carolina Arts Council, Kinston Community Council for the Arts, Friends of the Library, Greene County NAACP, Greene County Training School / South Greene High School National Alumni Association, Greene County public schools, the Town of Snow Hill, the Greene County government and many other organizations help us to offer a variety of programs and speakers for the public.

This institution is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
